Homework Help From the Public Library

The Los Angeles Public Library - Youth Services - is promoting free programs that begin this month: the Student Smart programs - which are in partnership with the Princeton Review. These free programs will be held throughout the library system (all 72 branches and Central Library's Teen'Scape department.)
They also have free online tutoring that they refer to as "Live Homework Help" which is available 3-10 pm every day via a partnership with Professionally trained tutors will help students in grades K-12 with English, Math, Social Studies and Science.
The Student Smart programs include:
· Full-Length SAT, PSAT, and ACT practice tests
· Study Skills 101 - learning to build better study habits
· Roadmap to High School - Middle-school students can learn about grade point averages, honor and AP classes, as well as the A-G College requirements
· College 101 - Explains the process of the application process and provides general information about college admission requirements, time-lines, and application procedures.
· Test-taking Strategies 101 - Learn how to improve test-taking skills on college entrance exams (SAT, PSAT, and ACT.)
· Financial Aid 101 - Provides information on financial aid, explains the FAFSA application and procedures·
Community College 101 - Explains how to get the most out of the two-year experience and transferring to a four-year college.
