September Message

Dear Solano Families,

Welcome back to a new school year! As the new principal of Solano Elementary I am excited to start this new academic year and eager to engage in new learning and creating a relationship with my new community of learners, thinkers, and leaders.

Our mission at Solano Elementary is to Learn  Love  Lead. We provide a safe, nurturing and intellectually stimulating learning environment, which promotes academic excellence and prepares all students to be self-motivated, life-long learners.

Solano Avenue Elementary School will continue to be a Leader in Me school. The Leader In Me is based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and promotes a culture of leadership, where students learn to be responsible for their own actions and their own learning. As I continue to learn and apply the seven habits I hope to strengthen our intrapersonal and interpersonal skills and enhance my problem-solving techniques. As you know, this philosophy promotes positive relationships among and between peers, adults, and families.

We also have a new Title One / TSP Coordinator here at Solano; Ms. Carolina Chavez who has joined us having a wealth of knowledge with elementary.
